Fruit Cocktail

Patti and I have been goofing around with this project since before the kids were born. We’d break out the (literal) American Songbook after dinner on a Friday night in our first home in King County in the mid 90s— crooning, plunking and pouring till all hours. It wasn’t until 2016 that we exposed it to the cruel light of day, the triumphant debut coming during the Sunnyland Stomp on a warm August day in our back yard.

Since then we trot it selectively about once a year—either in the yard or at a fundraiser, a wedding, birthday or anniversary. Oh, occasionally a Good Friday crucifixion. Maybe a Christmas show, a corndog roast— or both.

It’s my favorite project ever. I could do it all night every night…
